Conversation with street witnessor (?) becomes elder infused
by AuldSoul inyesterday, thursday, july 26, 2007, a conversation with a street witnessor (isn't that what you would call someone involved in street witnessing?
) got joined by a walk-up elder turned into a great opportunity to witness to several bystanders (who even joined in the conversation).. i began by declining to accept the offer from the elderly woman who held up a "what does god require of us?
i said, "but, verne, you aren't going to the bible.

Yeah, right on! Baptism is supposed to be a show of your faith to other people, not to God. They also were not legal contracts of shackling people to an organization. JWs would probably say that the baptisms back then were only for the 144,000. That's why they got baptized so soon. I, too, had the same doubts about the requirements for baptism. No where in the Bible does it say all that stuff is necessary. When the Ethiopian left Phillip, they never saw each other, again. Phillip also never gave him a warning to resign from his governmental duties or mentioned an organization.
Cigarettes dirty the body, but the Bible doesn't include a dirty body in the DF'ing list. That list is full of really awful things, except for the fornication bit. That is personal. Thief, greedy person, extortioner, liar, murderer, slanderer...no prohibition on smoking or talking to other DFd people. I bet people did smoke stuff back then. Oh, and disassociation is not a crime worthy of shunning, either. It was never mentioned in the Bible.
Please don't think I even believe the Bible anymore. I do like talking about it for academic purposes.

More Evidence that "666" refers to United Nations
by smontgom ina new book claims that the number 666 refers to the united nations through the name "haaretz haqaturim", which means "the nations of the united ones.
" commonly known as the number of the beast, the number 666 is from the thirteenth chapter of the book of revelation in the christian bible where verse 18 reads: .
"here is wisdom.

That is interesting. I always knew that the number 666 applied to government and not the devil, but so many thing 666 is the devil's number.

It takes a lot of strength to be a pagan hippy among so many Christians and witch hunters.

What sends you over the edge?
by restrangled inthere was a recent thread on spelling, sentence structure, etc., that was legitimate, but probably made other's feel stupid.. my question is, what is your personal pet peeve?.
i've got a problem with poor construction inside my home...i hate the trim work, some cut too short so it looks like mouse holes over the floor.
i had my kitchen redone and the layout was so unusual that i can't open a fridge door unless i pull it forward or push it back to open a drawer.

Anyone who challenges my authority as head of my family. My grandmother insists that now that I'm divorced, the elders are my heads. I told her I didn't believe that and she flew off the handle almost yelling at me that YES, THEY WERE MY HEADS!!!!! Anyone hear of this?
